I can’t believe the day this article was written, I’ve been in the intermediate phase of the Generasi GIGIH program for 5 weeks. This is something extraordinary because every week there must be something interesting to tell.

Long story short, in the previous week we were asked to write down a question that we would like to share with our peers as participants of Generasi GIGIH. Apparently, the questions were sorted by the committee and finally 10 questions were chosen to be used as questions for this weekly reflection. Of the 10 questions, we were each asked to choose 3 questions for us to answer as a story to tell. For those of you who found the link to this article from somewhere on the internet, this is my story on the 5th week of the Generasi GIGIH program.

How do I deal with losing or setbacks in my life?

For me it is very natural that in life we experience a setback, failure, or anything that makes us feel disappointed. Everything is part of the process towards changing ourselves for the better. Regarding failure, I always learn to apply the things I always do when playing video games. From video games I am used to experiencing failure, learning patterns of play, and determining the right steps to overcome obstacles so that I can continue to the next level. I think each of these failures is not something to regret. From every experiment that has not been successful, I am always looking for something for me to learn as a lesson even if it may only be the size of a drop of water. I think this attitude will certainly be beneficial if applied in solving daily problems. That way I will become stronger and ready to face any setbacks.

In addition, another thing that I usually do is the attitude of not comparing myself too much with the achievements of others. It’s true, some people’s achievements may look really cool and maybe prestigious too. But instead of thinking too much about the achievement, let’s think again for a moment to see it from another point of view. Before he/she achieved that, how many times had that person failed? How many times has that person made up his mind not to give up? I think that’s what we can learn from them and apply to each of us.

How do I develop my critical thinking skill?

I developed my critical thinking skills from my habit of paying close attention to the details of events around me. With that habit sometimes without realizing it, questions arise as I watch each incident. In addition, I am also used to asking for opinions from many points of view about anything. I don’t hesitate to ask many people if I need an answer to something, so that’s how I’m trained to draw a conclusion from the collection of information I have from that opinion. Maybe not all questions will have an answer right away, but believe me having a lot of questions about something is a good thing. You can also write your questions about anything if you want.

How do I tackle burn out when learning about so many things in so little time?

Experiencing burnout when doing something is not a new thing for me, especially burnout because of routine. When experiencing burnout, physically and emotionally we often feel stressed. As a result, our performance when doing activities becomes less productive. Instead of worrying too much, I prefer to take a break from all routines for a day, two days, or it can be adjusted depending on the available deadlines because we still have responsibilities to work on. During that break I would do entertaining things like watching tv series all day, hang out with friends or family, exercising, or even just being lazy the whole day. The point is that during the break, do whatever makes you happy to recharge your spirit and energy for tomorrow.

TAGLINE CHALLENGE

This is the most interesting part of this week’s reflection. During my time at Generasi GIGIH I feel I have grown a lot more than before. Although there were doubts whether I would succeed and be able to surpass myself, now I believe the only limit is myself.I must be determined to break down the walls of doubt that stand in my way so that I can move forward. And I believe that you too should #SurpassYourLimit , #BreakYourWall and move forward.
